Shirt Guidelines and Recommendations

  1. Pocket Sized Prints are located above where a pocket would go on a shirt.  These are best done between 2.5" wide and 3.5" wide and not higher then 4.5".  These are best done in a single color or two color.  On T-shirts we can take these to 4 color.  On Sport Shirts we strongly encourage single color work in this location. We can print on the pocket (3" square max), in the pocket area (3.5" largest side), or above the pocket on a shirt (3.5" largest side, 1/2" to 3/4" from pocket).

  2. Sleeve Prints are located on either the left or right sleeve.  These should be 2.5" to 4" wide and proportionally high.  Height should not be greater then 2.5"  This area is ideal for slogans, websites, and simple messages or graphics.

  3. Front Print: This is a traditional printing area.  Depending on the graphic a number of options may be appropriate.  Designs should be kept to the top of the shirt to accommodate all body styles.  (Nobody likes your logo on their belly  :)   )  We find a 10" wide by 8.5" tall design to be Ideal for this area.  However, a print size of up to 16" Wide by 21" tall may be used.

  4. Back Print:  This is also a traditional printing area.  We recommend a design area of 10" Wide by 14" tall.  It is not necessary to fill up the whole area to get your message across.  Simple, bold graphics work best.  Think of this area as a small billboard.  It can very successfully get your product or message noticed. You can use a maximum of 16x21 and we think a 11.5"x16" area is a good "large" print for most shirts.

Design Tips for Graphic Design

  1. Bold and Simple:  Keep your design free of clutter and use only the graphics and words necessary to communicate your message or theme.  It will increase the appeal and give it a timeless classic feeling.

  2. Avoid Tight registration and colors that touch.  These are the hardest things to print and we recommend avoiding them when possible.  An excellent separation distance is 1/8" of an inch.  We also realize that some designs require this and we are more then happy to print them.

  3. Properly prepare photos:  Photographs must have high contrast to print properly on a t-shirt.  Ensure that any photos you want printed are not washed out or faded.  A bad photo will almost certainly make a bad t-shirt.
